Top 5 Books On Spirituality With Powerful Affirmations

Hey girl!
We all have those moments filled with emotional turmoil. When life gets rough, it helps to put faith in your higher power (whatever that may mean to you), recite powerful affirmations that instill that faith, put in the hard work and effort, and let the universe work its magic. I’ve never considered myself to be religious, but my family grew up very spiritual. That basically meant, we didn’t believe in abiding by the societal construct of going to church. Too often we had grown up in churches where people just didn’t have the same values. Or we found they were judgmental to one another, which wasn’t an environment we wanted to be in. But we still believe in God and using faith and prayer as a means of “worship?” if you want to call it that.
My Own Spiritual Journey with Powerful Affirmations
Whatever your view is on religion and spirituality, I’ve come to rely on a few books that have completely changed my mindset and way of thinking. They have exposed me to a long list of powerful affirmations that I have used and seen work over the last four years of my life… A time in which I’ve seen an incredibly fast-paced flow of manifestation. My goals and lifelong dreams coming to fruition was proof of that. I absolutely credit all of my success to my spirituality. I’ve learned to let go and let the universe take control after stating my desired path and having a plan for it. And while I put in the hard work that it takes to accomplish these dreams, the only difference is that my spirituality helps make the hard work not feel so hard. AND it has opened so many doors for me in areas that seemed overwhelmingly impossible!
If you’re on board for life-changing results, stick with me. If you’re up for making a commitment to saying your affirmations and acting in full faith, you’re in the right place. Check out these five books that have helped me achieve my dreams through powerful affirmations.

“The Game of Life for Women and How to Play It” by Florence Scovel Shinn
Girlfriend, you NEED this book. And I say that because every woman needs to read this book. This is literally the Bible for women, helping us to tackle problem areas that men don’t always face. I also like to believe that men can benefit from this book too in a lot of ways. This book is dear to my heart because it was gifted to me after college in 2019 by my mother. I was going through a lot of “boy” issues you could say. Being the Pisces sun sign that I am, I often fell in love too quickly and too hard for the wrong guys and found myself wondering what was wrong with me. Sound familiar? After reading this book, taking its advice, and writing down my vision of a man that would be perfect for me, I ended up with the love of my life only a year and a half later. It’s not magic. It’s manifestation, hunny.
Don’t get me wrong, this book isn’t just about love. It centers a lot on controlling one’s emotions in order to live our best life. There are so many powerful affirmations in this book that are short and manageable too. This book was actually my first exposure to affirmations. Ever since, I committed myself to stating these almost every day for the last four years and it has been life-changing. I have already gifted and recommended this book to three friends of mine, who were facing similar issues, and will continue to recommend to women in the future.
“Winning the War in Your Mind: Change Your Thinking, Change Your Life” by Craig Groeschel
Okay, so this book took me for a ride in the beginning. The author is a priest and started off with a few religious references that turned me off rather quickly. BUT as I continued to get through the book with an open mind, I found myself incredibly moved by its content and following the simple, actionable steps in the chapters to analyze and fix problem areas in my life. Keep in mind for those who don’t care for religion… It takes a powerfully intelligent and emotionally competent person to be able to hear things they don’t agree with and keep listening. I encourage you to try this if you haven’t already.
To be completely fair to my “open-mindedness” boast (because I am not a saint and sometimes I really do shut off opinions I don’t agree with), I did make more of an effort to finish the book for one reason. It was recommended by my mentors in my business leadership group. They are people I respect tremendously. And also, when your mentors are multi-millionaires in happy marriages with hearts of gold and want nothing but the same success for your life, you listen. You absolutely do whatever it is they suggest for you to do… (It’s not like I would break the law or something if they told me to do so, but to do something as simple and innocent as read a damn book that’s supposed to change my life? I’m on board.) I’m glad either way that I stuck to the end of this book because it was truly life-changing.
“Think & Grow Rich in Ten Minutes a Day” by Napoleon Hill
If you’ve ever read or heard of the original “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill, this is a condensed, easier-to-understand version of it. The original is so intense, detailed, and written in language that was far beyond my level of understanding when I read it a year ago. I love this shortened version though that is an official publication of the Napoleon Hill Foundation.
Not only is it broken down into 100 pages of fourteen short chapters, each chapter also has simple action items to make sure you’re on the right track. The short version doesn’t include as many straightforward affirmations, but guides you though writing your own. If you have the time and willpower, I implore you to check out the original version. It will blow your mind and make you think more differently than you ever have before. The original book is also filled with so many incredibly powerful affirmations, many of which I still use today.
“The Science of Being Great” by Wallace D. Wattles
This is an oldie but a goodie for me because my dad actually forced my siblings and I to read this book and other Wallace D. Wattles work when we were kids. Back then, we were barely old enough to understand any of it. He swears that even though the content was so advanced for us to digest and appreciate, he sees much of its attributes in our personalities and achievements today.
This is another very thin, short book, but don’t underestimate its size. Wallace D. Wattles is somewhat of a poet and philosophical genius. The language in this book is just as intense if not more than Napoleon Hill’s work. While, no, I haven’t gone back to reread this book mostly due to sheer rebellion after my dad forced us to as children, I do believe there is a sort of brilliance to exposing your kids to such material before they’re consciously ready to comprehend it. But I also think as an adult with a matured mind, the lessons will be much more beneficial. And since you readers probably don’t have a similar childhood trauma stopping you from reading this book, make sure you do check it out!
“Leverage Your Mindset: Overcome Limiting Beliefs and Amplify Your Life! Be Less Stressed, Be Happier and Be More Mindful” by Jeffrey Deaver
The content in this book very much so covers the points outlined in its lengthy title. This is another short book with language that is actually easy to understand — hooray! So no excuses with this one. This book challenged me in ways I hadn’t expected, addressing areas and everyday life situations where I didn’t even realize I could just think differently and in turn change my results and overall happiness. And for that, this is another must-read.
I firmly believe that you deserve every bit of success you want for yourself and for your life. If you do too, be sure to order and read one or all of these books ASAP! Start in small chunks. Read a chapter or two per night and actually study the material by taking notes in the margin. Reading a book won’t change your life by itself, which is why you must actively read, take notes, and then — most importantly — act on those steps.
